*twitch*
I have returned from a three day (well, maybe two and a half, but whatever) thanksgiving thingummy with the family. Guh, to the max. Okay, first thing? I hate outdoorsy crap. I'm such a indoor person, my skin is freaking white almost. And where do my parents decide I have to go? The YMCA cabins up in the mountains, right in Estes Park. Cold as heck for one thing. 0 degrees easy at night, plus the whole awful wind chill.
The inside of the cabin was warm, and that's about all it had going for it. It was tiny, and I mean tiny, tiny. 3 rooms not including the cramped bathroom, 2 being the bedrooms, and the third being the kitchen/living room/dining room/everything else, maybe the size of your average living room. No tv or radio, so that was fun. I luckily brought my cd player (I can't believe I got through all 81 songs in one day) and two books (I never realized just how absolutely drenched in New Age garbage Mercedes Lackey books were before though. I feel dirty now.).
I didn't know they made beds that hard before now. I have to believe that sleeping on the floor might have been more enjoyable. My neck hurts now, blah.
On the plus side, yesterday the other family arrived that we had dinner with. They even brought the tv to work in conjuction with the gamecube, so we got a few good hours in last night and earlier today. Aside from that, it was kind of boring. I tried to read mostly, which was nice. There's a bit more here and there, but it's mostly not important.
All in all though, this trip has reaffirmed my current position of avoiding family get-togethers at all costs, and generally just staying up by myself with my music, my books, my tv, my computer, and a very nice bed. Now I'm bitter, in pain, tired, and have had two sorely needed vacation days completely ruined. Yay me. *goes off to bash his head into the wall*
Oh, and it really was worse for me than it probably sounds.
