The last day or few has had several posts and news items on signals to and from space, and it got me thinking. I think it would be hilarious if, in the odd chance of life actually existing elsewhere in the universe, the signals we beam out to "phone e.t." ended up killing them all, or irreparably damaging their existence or something of the sort. I mean, yeah, such frequencies for us don't harm us that we know of, bt what if they had a special kind of hearing and we ended up popping all their alien eardrums, or getting the exact right frquency or whatever to liquify their internal organs? I'd think it ironically delicious to one day in the far future go into deep space, only to find that we've caused mass genocides trying to contact them all...
