Better late than never.

All in all, this movie was quite good. Being a comic book and cartoon Batman fan, I have a few nits, as always, but it was pretty good all things considered.

Now for the nits and such. I had a problem with his head in the cowl. It was just too...bulbous. It kept distracting me. I want to pull a So I Married An Axe Murderer and start calling him "heed". I would have liked to see Crane in his mask more, but that's a little nit. I kind of wished they had made him taller like he his in the comics, but the actor did a decent enough job. I know they changed the movie of Zorro to an opera, but that I didn't actually mind. I'm glad they had that normal no bit thug kill his parents instead of having future Joker do it like they did in the Burton film.

Really though, my biggest gripe was just the way they pronounced Ra's' name. They pronounced it like Ra with an s, whereas everywhere else I've ever heard it it was pronounced like Rashe, with the a in Race. I grew up on the Animated series, and I'm pretty sure that's the way they pronounced it. It's not a big deal, but I found it disconcerting every time I heard it.

I read somewhere someone say that they found it silly and without purpose to have Ra's going after Gotham. Really though, being an avid enough fan, I know that Gotham is like a major gem of a city in the comic world. It's a major seaport for one thing, and Wayne Enterprises does major business. It's a business hub, much like NY, which is actually what it was partly modeled off of in the first place, so of course it's likely that Ra's would strike there.

Otherwise though, I did rather like the movie. It was a lot more believable than any of the previous incarnations, so I'm rather pleased. I thought it was cool that they actually used the arm spikes for something.

One last thing. What the heck was up with that police chase? I mean, he had a few cop cars left on his trail, and he pulls into the woods and suddenly they all disappear? You'd at least think they'd follow the dirt road or something. Yeesh.

Great movie though.
