Fleur De Saison

I've always loved this song by Emilie Simon, though I must admit that much of the lyrics, being in french, quite eluded me. I have just discovered the translated lyrics, and it's even more amazing.

From the first daybreak
Oh, I crumble

It seems quite far from summer to me
I haven't forgotten it
But I've lost my mind
And time could very well stop
Could very well seize from me
Every sense of the season

From the first daybreak of October
With the best of intentions
Oh, I crumble

I smell like the scent from a lily
My muscles weave themselves again
And I wait for the blossoming
But it could well have happened
Between September and May
I've forgotten my name

From the first daybreak of October
With the best of intentions
Oh, I crumble

Oh, the weather has changed, I count the seedlings
Of the other flowers in season

Still, I will not leave the moss
No more than any other flower in season

No more than any other flower in season
Ooh, ooh, ooh

It seems quite far from summer to me
My shriveled leaves
No longer make the connection
But it could well have happened
Between September and May
I no longer make the distinction

From the first daybreak of October
With the best of intentions
Oh, I crumble

Oh, the weather has changed, I count the seedlings
Of the other flowers in season

Still, I will not leave the moss
No more than any other flower in season

No more than any other flower in season
Ooh, ooh, ooh
No more than any other flower in season
Ooh, ooh, ooh

From the first daybreak
Oh, I crumble
