And what if there *is* a spoon?

First off, I completely have to say wowzers to that movie. I was consistently floored through out the entire movie and am going back to see it again as soon as possible.

That said, I'd like to address the nay-sayers of the film. To a point, I can understand why some uber fans of the first film might not care for this one so much. For one, Neo didn't seem to be quite as powerful as the end of the last one, and seemed to have lost some of his knowing himself to be the one kind of deal. For another, someone pointed out that the effects were crap, especially about Zion and the fight between him and the Smiths. And there are more things, one being how good the first one was, especially in the mental department and all that. To them, I say boo-fucking-hoo.

I personally loved the first movie, but as my brother said, there can be no movie that was exactly as the first one was, not even the sequel. Frankly, I don't want that. We've seen it, and that's what the Matrix is for. I wanted continuation, and something new to blow my mind and go "whoa!", and I got it, mostly in the end 20 minutes or so, but I got it. And you know what, I freaking loved the fight scenes. I absolutely loved them, and I never once thought they were just there and were unnecessary or any crap like that. And I looked for it during the fight, but I really didn't think the CGI was bad at all during the Neo/Smith fight. It was an amazing fight, and some people are jsut nit picking, but I suppose when one makes a movie as amazing as the first Matrix, people are going to expect a million times better.

One of the biggest complaints I've heard from those who have disliked the Matrix Reloaded has been about Neo not being as powerful a guy, or as self assured of being the one as he was at the end of the last one. Frankly, I think it makes a lot of sense. I mean, he still has quite a bit of power as should be DAMN OBVIOUS! Okay, except for the flying, he doesn't really do the super fast punching and kicking thing, no one does really, but I think it actually makes quite a bit of sense. For one thing, the agents have had upgrades. I mean, Smith is stronger than ever. So it's not that Neo's necessarily worse than before, it's just that everyone has gotten stronger. Plus, I think it has to be considered that maybe he just doesn't think to do anything he wants. He probably *could* teleport anywhere if he thought he could, but I think he's still somewhat bound by his own imagination, and the fact that he's lost some of that momentary iron will after Trinity did the whole "I love you" speech. He blew up an agent and all, and even made the whole hallway all wonky, but I think it's obvious that he still has issues with the whole thing. Aside from the constant fear of Trinity dying weighing on his mind, he has a lot of people worshipping him, as well as a lot of people thinking he's not, and not believing the prophecy. I think that for most of the movie he knows that he's the one on some level, but he still doesn't completely think he's up to snuff. I'm still a tad confused on the purpose of the one as designed by the creator of the matrix, mostly because he kind of mumbled a little, but I thought it was quite awesome to find out. It'll be cool to see how the whole prophet and prophecy thing works out.

Anyway, more on this later, but I've run out of mental steam for the moment.
