Went to my young life training and college life stuff tonight. Twas fun, as always, although it would have been a lot better had my nose not decided to be very unhelpful. I spent much of the night either sniffling, or making loud blowing noises into my kleenex, which embarrass me to no end. But the speaker tonight, Ben, he's a pretty cool guy. He came once before, and he runs this christian outreach thing to all the goth/punk/outcast crowd. He mentioned something tonight that was rather interesting, about sacrifice. People always want the easy way of doing things, but they're forgetting something. Ben put his finger on it when he said that love is sacrifice. And that's what it always comes down to, sacrifice. What are we willing to sacrifice for the love of another? Be it time, personal pride, whatever, love involves sacrifice. No, more than that, love *is* sacrifice. But anyway...
Our college life group has gotten rather small, as several of us have noticed. We now average ten or less people, as opposed to the 20 odd numbers it used to have when I first started coming. There is something to be said about smaller, more personal groups though. I'm a tiny bit more of a wallflower with less people. :P Although, I really hardly ever speak in there. I'm not sure why exactly, but I rarely feel the need to.
I've recently rediscovered a song by Randy Stonehill, and this one part just keeps playing through my head. It's so cool too, I just thought I'd share it.
I have heard a Still, Small Voice
That's whispering, "I Am, I Am, I Am"
Have you heard a Still, Small Voice
Whispering, "I can, I can, I can"
"If you'd only believe"
"If you'd only believe"
"If you'd only believe that there is love"
