Had an interesting afternoon today. Almost got into two accidents to and from physical therapy for my knee. On the way there, which normally takes about 15 minutes, I got caught at the traffic light not a mile from my house. I was already in a tad hurry, so it would be irritating enough. The light is perpendicular to the highway, so the light comes on after a long time, and then only stays on for a short period of time. I'm not sure if it was due to the road construction or what, but the f'ing light was significantly shorter than usual, and there was a huge line on both sides of the highway. I waited for four damn changes before I could go, and even then I had to floor it to make it the turn before getting caught in the center of the highway. The first near miss was the truck going straight as I turned, and who also seemed to be hitting the gas as I was going.
The second near miss came near the way home. I was at another light on the highway, and in the left lane. The front car in the right lane stalled, so a car pulled into the left lane, but right in front of me without warning, and I was going 30-40. I barely missed rear-ending the tards.
Of course, there was one interesting event that occurred, and that was on the drive home. There was a dark sky full of snowy blizzard apparently (never reached us) but the direction I was heading to was bright white clouds and blue sky, and as I looked between the rearview mirror and the clear ahead, something just hit me. It's hard to describe what it was exactly, so I won't, but that moment was important - nearing the clear with the dark grey-green sky behind, looming forever. It's one of those thinking moments if you know what I mean.
