I just had the most coolestest idea ever.

Okay, maybe not ever, but it's definitely one of my cooler ideas, that's for sure. I've been watching the Linkin Park music video, Pts of Athrty and it got me to thinking about warcraft and such games. And it occured to me how sweet it would be if someone would make a game like Warcraft, where you have large scale battles between the races, but what if each single character was a real person. Now, I know that there are already a few online games that can have people mass into groups in order to take a massive boss or something, but what I'm thinking is, what if instead of there was a whole game based solely on like massive wars held between kingdoms. Excluding some menial jobs like peon or shop owner, which could easily be done by the computer, what if every person in the army was a real person? Then it would truly become an amazing strategy type game. Hundreds, even thousands of different classes of soldiers engaging in long term combat. It would require massive coordination, gifted leaders to control their hordes and ranks of people, and a lot of really good strategy. You could send individuals out to do little tasks on their own, like scouting. You could send little groups out into the landscape to harass and demoralize enemy troops. You would not only have to consider the proper classes of soldiers to use for each situation, you would also have to consider each leader and his or her troops. Are they going to follow orders, are they able to think on their own and devise new strategies on the fly, etc. It makes me giddy just thinking about it. If such a game already exists, I haven't heard of it. I mean, a whole game based entirely on the battles, not leveling up, not item or gold hunting, the battles and the strategy. Maybe you could earn certain powerups for the troops as a whole for capturing towns or winning battles, or maybe only points that the higher level leaders have to decide how to dole out. Do you want to beef up the armor of the front lines, or the strength of the healers? Do you want mages with powerful fire rain, or do you want invisible scouts for harrassing? Basically, I'm thinking a warcraft that's played with each character a real person, and with much bigger armies.
