WIP!

This is something I just started writing as something to fill out pages, but I'm liking it and will probably turn this in as my second story for creative writing. Any comments would be appreciated.

Strike Two!

I asked Maria if she wanted to go for some coffee this afternoon. She declined. Of course, this time I acually expected it. I knew ahead of time that she'd most likely be swamped this week, although I did ask before hand if she'd gotten one of the more important things done, which she had. Of course, this all raises the question of why the hell I decided I had to go and ask her today, this week even. Aside from some sort of mental trauma that's always a possibility, I think I just had to do it. I've been worrying over it for a while now, and I figured, what the hell. Next week, being thanksgiving, she doesn't have a test to study for, so I think I'll ask her one last time before bowing out to the time honored tradition of three strikes and I'm out. Happily enough, I'm not terribly beaten down about this whole thing, but I am a tad sad. She's just so very much fun to talk to that it's always sad not to get more time with her. *crosses fingers for next week*
