I just watched the final Riley episode, and I have to say, it's just as painful as the first time I saw it. And having just watched the whole Riley arc in just about a month, I can honestly say that the whole break-up there just kept making itself pretty clear. I mean, I know a lot of people didn't like Riley (I don't know why, he was a cool guy. Maybe it's just because I really empathize with him.), but a lot of it really was Buffy. I mean, even the little offhand comments she had about him to her mom, she was totally treating him like Xander said. With Angel, she'd always go to him for emotional moments, mostly because she couldn't get the nooky from him, but still. She just always blew off Riley, and it's so obvious the second time seeing it all. This whole arc is so very realistic I think. I mean, you can see them making all the mistakes that real people make, the miscommunications, and especially the hurt feelings. It's all there, and so very real, that it's like a knife having to watch it all crumble again. The writers so ruled.

I've been watching a lot of Buffy in the last few days, and I've realized something. I totally don't get why Xander ended up with Anya. I mean, okay, she obviously likes him, and she's attractive, and she speaks her mind, which any man would love, but I still don't really see that connection between them. I can see Xander with Buffy, Willow, Cordelia, even Tara, but it just doesn't seem to click between those two. I can see why there were always so many big fans of Anya and Giles hooking up though. There's just always been something there, and I dunno why. Chemistry is a funny thing. And if I ever have any with someone, maybe this whole thing will make more sense to me...

The family finally rented it for watching tonight. It's really, really cheesey at times, and I'm really not happy with some of the themes I noticed squirreled away in it, but overall, I rather liked it. And honestly, any movie with Jackie Chan doing his thing, not to mention the ever nummy Claire Forlani is going to be a good watch. Nummy, nummy Claire Forlani and her nummy gaze.

Holy cow. I just read something supe interesting about Supes. Apparently, "[Rumor] has it that that the lead contenders for the role of Lois Lane in the new Superman movie are Selma Blair, Drew Barrymore, Claire Forlani, Courtney Cox-Arquette and Charisma Carpenter."

Okay, Drew Barrymore? Hell no. But Claire and Charisma? Guh, and yes please. Frankly, I think Charisma Carpenter could make the perfect Lois. Provided, of course, another Supes movie ever gets made.

Me!
