Oh oww, that's painful.
Dec. 31st, 2003 01:54 pmI just watched the final Riley episode, and I have to say, it's just as painful as the first time I saw it. And having just watched the whole Riley arc in just about a month, I can honestly say that the whole break-up there just kept making itself pretty clear. I mean, I know a lot of people didn't like Riley (I don't know why, he was a cool guy. Maybe it's just because I really empathize with him.), but a lot of it really was Buffy. I mean, even the little offhand comments she had about him to her mom, she was totally treating him like Xander said. With Angel, she'd always go to him for emotional moments, mostly because she couldn't get the nooky from him, but still. She just always blew off Riley, and it's so obvious the second time seeing it all. This whole arc is so very realistic I think. I mean, you can see them making all the mistakes that real people make, the miscommunications, and especially the hurt feelings. It's all there, and so very real, that it's like a knife having to watch it all crumble again. The writers so ruled.
