So much to say, so little remembering.
Jan. 14th, 2004 04:03 pmI was right about my philosophy class. It's not going to be nearly as fun as it could be. I mean, the teacher is pretty interesting as teachers go - she's all bubbly, although she has something of a crazy long laugh at certain things that really aren't that funny. But I know why she does it. Anyway, she's exactly the liberal sneaking in her own values and beliefs as is possible as I figured she would be. Don't get me wrong, liberals themselves I don't have much beef with, although I do think they're misguided (and yes, so are some of the conservatives, so no lip), it's just that I don't like when they're intentionally pushing their beliefs in the guise of teaching. Not only do I not like it personally, I think it's atrocious to do it in such a way that most people won't realize that they're being taught a bunch of political crap and opinion. I mean, the anti-Bush rhetoric disguised as discussing the wisdom of Socrates, not to mention pretty openly scoffing the thought of people wanting more conservatives teaching in the college to balance out the liberals. And pretty much saying that the majority of people (the way she said it, it was obvious she meant the whole conservative/republican/etc. thing as the majority of people) are most often wrong. Okay, people as a whole can do a lot of stupid things, but still, I really don't enjoy her using my philosophical learning time used to secretly spout her tripe. Gah.
Oh, and men's bathrooms in Carl's Junior? So gross.
I keep having so many thoughts I want to journalize while I'm at school, so why is it when I come home I can't remember any of it?
I got my final book for the semester. $92, joy. Grand total? I don't even want to think about it.
I walked through the UC today after lunch, and they were having some sort of table fair. You know, the kind where all the various organizations have a bowl full of candy or some such and try to talk you into something. Frats, health centers, pregnancy center, housing, etc. I saw one lady with a little baby squirming about next to a bowl of candy and I thought, 'hmm, they're giving away babies now.' I then had the sudden urge to go tell the pregnancy table...
At one of the last tables, and I don't even know what they were about, was Maria. Guh. She is still as lovely as ever. Like a slap in the face combined with candy or something. All I have to say is if she really does has a bf, he'd better not let go of her. :P
