What an odd day.
Jan. 21st, 2004 03:07 pmWell, not so much odd as...well, I can't think of any normal descriptor to put in place, and neither odd nor normal really works, so I'll use my newly new word, minical. (I thought I'd never find a use for the bugger, but I have, and it fits.)
Had the crappiest of sleeps last night. Kept waking up for no apparent reason, and when I woke up a good half hour before my alarm, the porch light was on and shining up through the blinds, so I couldn't get back to sleep. Isn't it weird how awake you can be sometimes when you wake up, but slowly you degenerate into a sleepy mess as time progresses? It's the weirdest thing, like I'm going backwards through the day or I'm skewed by a few hours. Maybe I'm on someone else's time.
Anyway, the day had bouts of boring with the occasional point of interest. Ran into Maria at the ATM next to the school papers, which was good way to stop and say hi without seeming too weird for me. I need my excuses after all. I mean, I always wave and smile at her, and she does the same, but I don't often find a chance lately to actually say hi. But okay, here's the thing: What the hell is it with girls that I have an interest in that turn me into a complete babbling idiot? Honestly. I mean, instead of asking how her day was, or how things were going, I asked her something I've asked before when she was doing some boring homework or task, "having fun?" I mean, okay, precedence, but still. I don't even have a shot with this girl, and I'm still an idiot. Then I go and keep walking after I pick up the paper, although to be fair, she had an expression when looking at the atm that made me think that right then probably wasn't the best time to small talk. Bah.
Anyhoo, the only other point of interest in my day, aside from the quiz I didn't do so well on in Linear Algebra, involved the girl in my sociology class (amazing how the most interesting moments of my day involve cute girls :P ). She looks quite a bit like a fleshed out Eliza Dushku, which is just keen, even down to the amazing smile, albeit a rare one (I think I'd be a lot funnier if I would just talk louder, maybe enunciate a bit more instead of having to repeat myself all the time. The girls laugh, but it usually takes a repetition or two first). I think here name is Melissa (which, Bob, if you're reading this, is kind of funny, no?), and I'm hoping to find out next time we have class. I think we have the same building for our next classes, so I'm hoping us walking the same path is a common occurence. I could actually introduce myself, find out her name, stuff like that. :P She has this awesome cross with an emerald looking center which I'd definitely like to take a closer look at.
Ooh, I forgot, new Angel and SV tonight! Woo! With that, one other thing, and a book called Hinds' Feet on High Places, my night is looking up.
