Okay, now I'm just weird.

So I read on yahoo news that there could be a mass exodus from like the National Guard because a lot of such groups are getting sent out to the war and such. And you know what instantly comes to mind? That I should consider joining the military. I'm something of a contrarian when it comes to certain things, but I also know how very important our military is to keeping our country going. It's like, I feel this civic duty to pick up the slack when everyone else decides to be a dick and quit when things get difficult or uncomfortable. Of course, I couldn't get into the military if I wanted to, not with my various disfunctions such as asthma, but I still can't help but feel the sudden urge to help when everyone else is backing off. Maybe I can just consider my brother being in there as fulfilling the family debt to national need. :P Got to keep protecting the world after all, and more importantly, keep protecting ourselves.

Anyhoo, I got to see Maria today when I went into the calc lab to kill some time before class. We pretty much wave and smile as always. I can't tell if I should feel mocked that I get to see her so often, or happy that I'm graced by her presence. Maybe both...

Got to actually talk to the girl from Sociology some today. Lovely laugh to go with the gorgeous smile on her. She hasn't really said much to me at all before today, but we talked about class stuff before, and after we walked to the same building together, so that was nice. Now I'm not minding the 3-4 minute walk anymore... Yay me!
