Yahoo videos are all wonky for me today. None fo the rating bars are showing up. Not that I really care, it's just unnerving when things aren't as they normally are.

Something's up with my dog today. She's not eating her food, which, if anyone knows dogs knows that's not normal behavior. She may be sick, which is never fun. And mom didn't leave instructions on what I'm supposed to feed the rat and when. I heard apple slice, orange slice, and a carrot, but not when. Since the rat had some sort of stroke not too long ago, her diet has had changes. I knew how much and when to feed her before, but not anymore. Bugger.

My first night of young life training was interesting. Aside from John who teaches the thing, there were two guys, and like like 5 or 6 girls. It's rather odd, but then again, there's always more girls in the regular young life group than guys. We got homework, which I totally wasn't expecting. Every week we have to memorize two specific verses from the bible, and then we'll have like a little quiz on it. I'm not going to be a young life leader, so I guess it doesn't matter as much for me, but I'm still going to do the work. We also have to write some unifying principles or something, which I guess helps some people. Heck if I know.

After the training, we had the regular group, and keen-ness, I got to talk to Maria for a few minutes first. I think one of the reasons I like her is because she's a bit like me in some of my mannerisms and general fidgetyness. We had to go ghetto again with the singing last night. Meaning the projector never works, so we turn off the lights, and all crowd around the laptop to read the lyrics. It's kind of fun really. 5 girls, 3 guys, and a guitar, just singing. It makes me more nervous that I'm singing off key or something, but eh.

Ugh. Okay, I am so going to bomb CS 302 if this damn book doesn't get any easier to read. Seriously though, I've read my share of ear-bleeding Computer programming books, this one by far takes the cake. It's virtually incomprehensible, and there's nothing to be done about it.

Take this passage as for instance:
"Typically the definition of the virtual computer is described as an automaton, but an automaton that is far more complex than the simple automata models used in the study of syntax and parsing. The automaton has an internal state that corresponds to the internal state of a program when it is executing; that is, the state contains all the values of the variables, the executable program, and various system-defined housekeeping data structures. A set of formally defined operations are used to specify how the internal state of the automaton may change, corresponding to the execution of one instruction in the program."

And it goes on like that. And trust me, it's no more understandable to someone who knows most of those words. The whole book just goes on and on without acually saying anything understandable. I'm thinking of snapping and going on some sort of a spree. Maybe something with fire and sharp pointy things.

Me!
