I broke down under the urging of whatever it is that has been urging me and started reading the Chronicles of Narnia today. I've been really wanting to the last few weeks, but I haven't because I know that once I start reading something, it kicks up the habit and I can't be stopped until I run out. "Know that when we start this, it will not stop, because that button doesn't work."

I love C.S. Lewis' work. He is one of those authors whose writing style is just so perfect that you can't find errors or nettles that hang you up, eventually somewhat taking away from the story. I place him fully in the same category of Orson Scott Card as a writer who can pull you fully into his work, and in such a way that one does not require buckets chock full of useless descripters and the like. Partly simply because there are pictures every so often, but mostly because he writes in such a way that with only a few small words, you can completely see the scene in mind, and nothing is lost in the doing so.

I also love how Lewis can so wonderfully compress down the most important events of the Bible and through alegory and parallel reveal the point of it all to an extent.

And for all you out there, a little something.

Je suis un singe qui vit dans un arbre.
Je colle mon bout dans le ciel pour tous à voir.
Mon âne dans le ciel est une vue à voir.
Comme je balance j'aime aller eeh eeh.

My french is rusty, so I used babelfish, so but it looks mostly grammatically correct...

Me!
