Hi diddly dee, it's a pirate's life for me
Aug. 2nd, 2004 11:19 amI have to go down to the dmv sometime this week. Having just turned 21, my old license is about to expire, and I have to go down and get a new one that says how old I am. Really not looking forward to it. I rather hate going there, but what can you do?
I finally got around to beating Xenosaga, like I've been planning to do for months. It's always hard going back to a game that you're already like 39 hours or so into. One tends to forget the plot and what the hell is going on, or even the layout of a particular level. But I wasn't going to start over again, play 30-40 hours, get tired and stop at the same place again. So I played it through, I leveled up a bunch, then I went and kicked the last few bosses' asses. That sounded weird... I am proud to say that on that particular save file, I played for a collective 55 hours, which isn't bad at all. Hopefully they'll use the save file in the second Xenosaga like they've been hinting at. Good times.
In other unrelated news, well related by boredom and freetime, but nothing else, I've taken up learning to play the guitar. My brother learned to play it before he went off to the marines, and the leave before last someone gave him his own to take with him back to base, which he has been using quite extensively to stave off boredom. But anyway, he came back and played stuff, and it looked cool, so I decided to try my hand at it. I practiced like an hour or two yesterday, and for doing so, I have sore fingertips and can play two or three short opening bits. I think I can do like two whole chords too. :P But I learned how to play the opening little bit to 7 Nation Army, a little of Life in Rain, and a tiny bit of Kryptonite. At this rate, in a few months, I may know a whole song.
