I hate writing.
Jan. 10th, 2005 02:08 pmScratch that. I hate writing for school. I hate writing long papers on things that do not interest me. I hate writing papers with sources and doing all the little things required to use said sources. The sources bug me more than just the writing too, but it's all one big annoyance. Not that I have any writing to do as of yet, but being the first day of school, we went through all the class syllabi. Blech. Okay, so at least there's only one paper for Western Civ, which is less than I expected. On the downside, my Shakespeare class looks to want to pick up all the slack. Four three-page papers and a final 10-12 page paper with something like 10 sources for said paper. I could just weep over that last one. But later.
Aside from all the crappy writing to look forward to, today wasn't bad as school days go. All four classes got out early, and except for Western Civ I know at least one person in every class. Even cooler is that Allyson is in my Shakespeare class. She was always fun, and I haven't had much chance to talk with her, so that'll be cool. Also keen is that all the people from my discrete class last semester is in my probabilities class (we have homework due tomorrow in it too). And my networking class has a good number of CS people in it, so that's a plus too. The one remaining downside that I currently know of is that I have to go and buy books. I wince to think of them. My math book alone is going to cost me $111, and my CS books look to run me $120+. Heh, I like what my math teacher said about the book, something about it's worth about a third of what it costs. I do appreciate that most of my teachers seem to try and pick the texts that cost us a little bit less, though I think the teachers that do are the ones that have to buy the books out of pocket or something, as math and cs department people don't seem to care about cost.
