The One True Slayer
91 Bites of Slayage

Damn. Not only have you died twice doing what you do, but no one
understands your burden and you find yourself disturbingly attracted to
vampires. You are the ultimate repository of what it takes to be the
Slayer, and no one can tell you otherwise. If you don't own all seven
seasons on DVD, it's cause they haven't been released in your country
yet. I am in total awe of you, and maybe just the tiniest bit creeped
out.

Honestly, I'm not sure whether I'm annoyed that I didn't know more, or rather glad that I didn't know everything. Ah well.

I find myself seriously annoyed every time I read of some denomination or other of the church discussing gay unions, ordinations, and the like. If one is going to be a christian, it's pretty logical that one pays attention to the Bible, which of course includes in many places that being gay (by this, I mean the actions, not the inclinations to like the opposite sex. An alcoholic can have an inclination to drink and not act on it) is a sin. Sin is a no-no. Granted, we are to love our neighbor as ourself, and in no way should we hate gay people. But loving one's neighbor does not mean one ignores the problem and it especially doesn't mean we are to endorse a problem. We are all sinful, we are all fallen, but the difference that christians should have is that we are supposed to be repenting our sins and turning away from them, not endorsing them. Endorsing the gay lifestyle as a choice is a disturbingly anti-christian thing to do amongst christians. We cannot allow gay clergy, for the leaders of the church are to be the shepherds of our flocks. They are to guide us in righteousness and are held to higher lives than most of us, for they must live as examples of what God has commanded of us in the Bible. To randomly pick the sins we don't like and throw them out is insane. God doesn't change, and neither does his law. Honestly, it all comes down to the problem that homosexuality is a sin, and to validate it as a lifestyle is a truly sad thing for the church to even consider it. We are supposed to shepherd people away from sin, not tell them it's fine. We will all be held accountable for our actions someday, and telling people that certain sins are not actually sin seems like something none of should be guilty of.

We should be simply telling the truth and letting people deal with it as they please. Our job is to be the watchmen of the city. If we warn and a city does not heed, the guilt is upon them. If we do not warn, then the guilt is upon us. Christians should really read their Bibles more, or at least, pay more attention when they do.
