Every year, as christmas approaches, I find myself reading articles here and there about handling the many inherent problems involved, mostly involved with the family. I haven't really thought about it much before today when I read another one. A woman wrote about the many problems that christmas entails, such as spats with siblings, critical parents, bad presents, or things like nosy relatives who like to pry about marital status. It's funny though. I mean, I can understand it, but it's mostly just weird because I've never really had to deal with such problems.

I think I've been really lucky with my family. For one, we're all pretty laid back. Both parents have been pretty much happy with whatever we choose to do, and don't have unattainable expectations or anything. Also, I think it probably really helps not having any sisters. I'm not sure why, but from what I've seen, sisters tend to cause much more drama than brothers.

Secondly, I think one of the bigger annoyances is that people tend to get each other weird and rather retarded gifts. Granted, our family often gives each other weird little gifts we'll never use again, but we also have this habit of making lists of things we'd like. From what I've gathered, families with lists really stress a lot less. You're not going to get everything on the list for the most part, but you know you'll at least get a few of the things you want.

There's a lot more I wanted to say about this subject, having bloomed in my head, but honestly, I've gotten suddenly bored and my brother just got in from his honeymoon, so I'ma go.

Me!
