I went to see Poseidon this evening. I must say, it really was quite good. I've never seen the original Poseidon Adventure, but I can't help but think they probably had a much bigger budget for this movie. As far as fx goes, it's all very realistic. Granted, as in all disaster films, there are always a few moments that occur that are pretty impossible in the real world, though people have been known to do some crazy-ass stuff... Anyway, it was a great movie to see in the theater.
Of course, as my mother pointed out, which I have to agree with, we have yet to see a movie in the theater that was as intense as Dante's Peak. Man, that movie was something else in the theater. We came out of there high on adrenaline, and we kept wanting to floor the gas and just vroom all over town. Good times.
