Use your hammer-ons people!

Random thought here, but why is it on guitar hero that no one knows about and/or uses hammer-ons and pull-offs when playing guitar hero? I am by no means the best player, but I can bury people by using said HOPOs. It's an integral part of the game, so why no bother trying to use them?
