It's been a while since I last watched an episode of Smallville, but last night I actually sat down and watched the episode with the incredible stretching Pete. It wasn't terrible, but I also remember one of the reasons why I stopped watching; nobody will just come out and tell each other anything. They have to drag out everything to an insane degree, where normal people would just snap and say, fine! For five years it was Clark and Lana, and now that that's out of the way, they have to keep secrets from Kara. Ugh. I get the same feeling as I used to, wanting to scream at the tv for them to just tell them the freaking truth! Gah, it's annoying, and way too soap opera.

Also, dear sweet monkey, but I feel bad for the actors for all the shilling they have to do. Seriously, the entire Pete episode was like one long commercial for Stride gum. And it's not even subtle. They just blatantly hammer the product over and over. I laughed for about two seconds when Chloe joked about the factory shutting down and how they shouldn't have made the flavor last so long, before I realized with horror that it wasn't a joke, it was product placement. The show has always been a shill, I mean, who could forget poor Pete always having to yell out products and band names, but holy cow, this is above and beyond what it used to be. It's like they've created a superman soap opera themed commercial. It's just so bad!

Me!
