I've not done much of late to really speak of. I'm terribly boring at the moment. On the other hand, I have been reading a number of quite excellent books and listening to a number of thought provoking sermons online. I have recently discovered a new fantasy author by the name of Brandon Sanderson, and I have to say that he has instantly shot himself up to being one of my favorite authors. His very first book, Elantris, is astoundingly good, and is not part of a series, so one can just sit down and read it without worry of having more to do after. Of course, it's so good that I almost wish there were more. He does have another book though, that is the first of a series (there are three of them thus far), and of the bit I've read so far, it's looking to be just as good. Sanderson particularly seems to have a flair for slowly unveiling mystery throughout the course of an entire book, and in a way that doesn't seem cheap or infuriating. Near the end, you start to catch glimpses of what he's been slowly revealing, and when it finally all comes clear it makes perfect sense and makes you feel rewarded for staying with him. I totally recommend checking him out, if only for Elantris.
