Conan rocks
Jan. 23rd, 2010 01:51 amI've always found Conan to be most amusing, but after seeing his final show tonight, I have to say that my level of respect for him has risen dramatically higher than before. Not only did he stick it to NBC in an appropriately hilarious manner, he also finished with both good humor and spectacularly good taste. Kudos to you, Mr. O'Brien, for pulling off such a remarkable exit. I also am so proud of how he took people to task for being too cynical over this thing, and then said good things about NBC. I do so applaud him. I boo the network however, for canning his staff and refusing to pay their severance. Way to go Conan for paying for it himself.
I'm slightly annoyed at the network for not letting him host any other shows for seven months. On the one hand, it's a bit lenient, considering some industries have a minimum of like a year before you can work for any competitors. Still though, they gave Conan the shaft, so you'd think they'd be nicer than that.
Also, is NBC trying to shoot itself in the foot, or what?
