DnD baby

Not to be mistaken for the eponymous doormice and dew drops. I had my second ever dungeons and dragons game tonight, and I have to say that it's every bit as fun as I had come to expect. It's partly due to story, but honestly, the majority of the awesome comes from the personalities of a large group of nerds coming together and make many jokes. It's also much fun to see our various characters' personalities clash.

I, for instance, play a deranged, halfling, chaotic sorcerer who deals random types of damage, and 1/3 of the time becomes a little unhinged and usually does something crazy. I roll a normal d6 and on a one or two I decide to do something much less rational, like jump into a dark hole without checking it out first (falling something like 30 feet to the cavern below and losing half my health). Not to mention how often I make odd suggestions or do something quirky, like sleep under tables, set fire to random things, explode every bunny I see with great fervor, or even trying to ride my minotaur teammate (who did not at all take kindly to said suggestion, even when said several times...).

Honestly, I've not had such great fun in a long time and, thankfully, I designed my guy well enough to be able to mostly handle the results of his craziness. I wouldn't be all that surprised if one day my team decided to kill my guy after he sets off one too many traps or something.

Me!
