Sep. 29th, 2014 09:03 pmBeen a while. Not a whole lot new on my end, really. Moved to Cali, been living and looking for work. It's not a great job market here, which is disappointing, but I hope I can find something soon.
I finally got around to watching the final season of How I Met Your Mother this week, and I have to say that the ending left me with mixed feelings. I quite liked the woman they got to be Ted's future wife, so naturally it was exciting to see them approach the point of meeting, to see it all go down. The episode focused on her particularly left me with many warm fuzzies, seeing how perfect she was for Ted (not to mention how cute she is in general). It was sad to see Barney and Robin fall apart like that, but his eventual transformation was nicely satisfying. The twist at the end though, that's where the conflicted feelings come in. They ended it well enough, and it was kind of sweet, but it's sad that they killed her off like that. Bittersweet, that's what I'm feeling. It's amazing, I haven't really followed the show religiously; I think there's a whole season or two that I missed out on. Yet, the show still managed to get to me emotionally. Well done, guys, well done.
Of course, the show also got to me because I'm in something of the same boat as Ted, fated to meet her one day, but waiting for so long and, at times, heartbroken. Thus, seeing the fulfillment of the character arc leaves me bittersweet in of itself. Ah well.
