I had the weirdest experience the other day. I've been waiting for a call back from a job at Software Etc. that I've been wanting to get, and so when the call came, I thought that's what it was for. Of course, the connection was so bad that even though I asked like 3 or 4 times, I couldn't catch the name of the guy, or where he was calling from. Of course, I never ever get phone calls, so I was thinking that it had to be the store manager. Big mistake. The guy started by asking what I was doing, if I was in college, and what I was majoring in, lif plans, that sort of thing. It was about the time that he started asking about the cost of college and loans that I began to suspect he might actually be some sort of military recruiter. It was confirmed when he told me that there was a way to go to college for free, then started asking me stats about myself. He then proceded to try and sign me up to come in and discuss options with me, even though I kept telling him that I really didn't want to and how military life of any kind just isn't my thing. Weirdest thing, he still signed me up to come in today, and completely ignored my nay-saying. Needless to say that I was a bit irked. Of course, I found out today, after I had called back and cancelled my appointment, that my younger brother, who is newly a marine, had put the marine corp recruiter he knew up to calling me. He had in fact been there at the time, cracking up after giving him my name and number. Of course, I did get him back during the talk yesterday, unbeknownst to me, when I told the guy that my bro had just taken the test the military gives and had gotten a pretty high number (I said around 80%, but found out it was only 70something%). He asked me if I am smarter than my bro, and I said hell yes. Hehe. Go me. :P
