First of all, yay me. My philosophy teacher has this thing next week in Oregon, so she's canceled class for all next week. Add to that spring break, and I don't have that class for two whol weeks! Woo!
And even better, I have practically no homework to do this weekend as I've finished up my programs, so I have nearly 2 whole days of time free to play Final Fantasy 7! Woohooo!!
There's one last thing that I think is important for people who are going to, or have already seen the Passion of the Christ. I've been reading several news articles about it today, and it's got me thinking that some people tend to miss the point of the movie. And it's this subtle sort of thing, so much so that some people who see it tend to miss it. Well, there are several things people harp on, but this one is rather important. It's about how violent and bloody it is. People focus on simply how gorey it is without realizing that there is a point, and that is that he did it all for us. I've now seen this movie twice, and both times, by the time it ends, I have this small little smile, because it wasn't about the suffering, it was about doing it *for* a reason. I suppose the anti-semitism (sp?) crap kind of fits in the same category too. Yes, it was the jews who had him killed physically, but so what? He was a jew too, as were all his disciples. It wasn't even like he had come to overthrow the jewish law, but to fulfill it. And every single one of us killed him, that's even what Mel said. He didn't die because some Jewish leaders didn't like being told they were wrong, although that what moved them to action, he died because everyone needed him to. And that's all I have to say about that for now.
