Today mom asked if there was anything I wanted to do, it being break, and she wanting to do something for me like she did for my bro when he was here on his leave. I said I'd like to buy Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis so I could have a permanent copy to read. She said okay, so I went with her to do some errands and whatnot, ending at Borders. After a slight detour of discovering that our tire was dangerously close to exploding at even the slightest jarring (thank goodness I noticed it was half flat) and replacing it, we made it to Borders. I found not just one Lewis book I wanted, but this collection of like 6 books, including The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, The Problem of Pain, Miracles (the other of his I really wanted), and A Grief Observed. Mom felt particularly keen and got the whole thing for me, plus a cd I saw and liked. So now I have a reading load to last me quite a while, and some good music to rock out to. "Kicking it old school, as they say....and I never will again."
