And why is it not today? Okay, that was weird, but it sounded...less weird, in my head. But anyhoodly doodle, yesterday was interesting. Some parts of it anyhow.

I had a test and a quiz yesterday, plus my program was due for 302. It's always rather ironic how we all seem to go to sleep so late the night before tests, when we need rest the most. I stayed up a good hour or more later than I usually do thursday night. I had started reading The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis that morning, and I just couldn't put it down. But I eventually did and finished it off yesterday morning, when I should have used the time to study more, but it was okay. My only problem was that the lack of sleep made me rather out of it. I didn't pay a lick of attention in 302, and then, for like the first 10 minutes on the test in Dr I's class, I couldn't think at all. I knew the answers, and eventually my brain kicked in, but it was rather disturbing at first. I knew the answers, but it ws like I couldn't access them because my brain wouldn't wake up. But it did, and I finished the test in time (I think Dr. I is slipping, I can actually finish his tests on time this semester, and I can almost get passing grades on them), then went off to stupid philosophy to hear the teacher discuss Foucault. As if I needed another philosopher who tries to describe away the soul and whatnot as simply developing from the creation of punishment or something. Nietzche was crazy enough for several lifetimes, thank you.

After lunch, and a rather nice chat with Maria, I went sociology where the teacher had promised us a funny film that we were going to get to watch and write about. Turns out, it was a lecture from like the 80s on the topic of advertisements and their affect on our view of the feminine. She had a few funny moments, but it was rather a gyp. Although, like Melissa said, he really doesn't have a great sense of humor, so it shouldn't be surprising. If only Nick had been right, and we had gotten to watch the Addams Family so we could write about the completely off family dynamic or something. After that letdown, I got to chat with Melissa a bit more before going to linear algebra and a quiz. Ugh. I really like math and all, but I like the applicable stuff, meaning things you can work with, numbers and equations. I hate proofs and the abstract crap. Blech. Give me a big calc problem to solve any day.

I also got a haircut yesterday, which I'm mostly happy with. It looks nice and all, but the front is shorter than the back, and I really don't need a cowlick in the back that shows up way before I need another haircut. I'm not really sure what to do about it, so I've decided to stay annoyed and vaguely uneasy about the whole thing for the time being.

Me!
