Because I'm weeping up a flood...metaphorically of course.
I'm finding it increasingly harder to watch the first two seasons of Buffy anymore. Partly because one of my season one disks is scratched and can't watch one or two eps, but mostly because of lost potential. It's Willow and Xander you see. And to a lesser extent Xander and Buffy. I just finished watching Incan Mummy Girl, and it absolutely broke my heart repeatedly throughout. I know Oz ends up in love, and she with him, but she never looked at Oz the way she does with Xander. I mean, Alyson Hannigan has the most damn expressive eyes in the world. Every time I saw her heart break a little more, it just made me want to cry. Not enough to actually do so of course, only the final episode of season five got me close enough to tearing up, but it makes it very hard at times. And it's not even the looks and all that, it's the loss of possibility. I mean, the way these characters interact, it's just so dreadfully sad that it never went anywhere. I mean, the clothes fluke alone showed that there was a chemistry there, but of course, it had to go south. It's times like these that I get very close to cursing Whedon for yanking me around so.
*shakes fist*
