Stupid linux. The bastard will install everything perfectly, but for some deranged reason, will not recognize any of the damn monitor/video card/resolution options. No matter what the hell options I use, it says it can't find any devices. And it can't even tell me which of three options is causing the problems. Guh. Makes my brain hurt. So, for the moment, I can't run startx, and I'm stuck with a big dos program, without even a net. Dammit all.
