Awesome, awesome moive.
I'll try not to give too much of the movie away, but I must say, it was really well done. Although, I really hated Paltrow's character with a vengeance. I think they meant it that way, at lest partly anyway, but needless to say, I spent a good portion of the movie rooting for her to die, which is probably not a good thing to be wishing on a main character. I nearly cheered when Joe ended up decking her near the end. Good times. I must say though, I loved the twist in the end about the villian.
One small problem, sort of, that I had though, was that, in the beginning especially, there were so many things taken directly from the old original superman cartoon, and I'm talking shot for shot here too, that I kept expecting Supes to show up and save the day. It was kind of disappointing knowing that he wasn't. Thinking about it though, I am left with the inescapable conclusion that they absolutely positively have to make a Superman movie just like this one. There's something so very fitting about that time in regards to Superman, and at times, him living in more modern times can almost take away from it all. I love the whole future-as-viewed-by-the-30's bit. So very cool.
