I consider myself to be at times rather observant. Well, at least for the things that catch my interest. I have so much crap going through my head at any given moment that I probably filter out a good number of things as well. But I do think that for certain things I give a good amount of attention to, I rather see things that tend to escape others. I'm not always sure if the conclusions I reach are true, as other people don't take the time to notice the same things I do, but I think I can be darn near insightful from time to time.
Now that I've pointed that out (I think it's funny how most of us in lj land tend to write to an audience anymore, as opposed to writing like one would normally do in a journal or diary; we even explain things, often without realizing what we're doing), I want to put down some of the things I've been noticing in my physics class.
My prof is a good example. He looks, for lack of a better description, rather like a harmless turtle with glasses. He's a bit round, and has the upper lip that sort of beaks like a turtle, and even his eyes are sort of turtlish. He's got a pretty good sense of humor and seems pretty easy going, but there's something more in there that I really doubt anyone else has been thinking about. I think that given the right fuse, that man has a terrible rage. I can't explain it exactly, and I sincerely doubt any of us students shall ever witness it, but there's something to him that sparks of a rather bad temper when lit. It intrigues me, because I am almost certain of this, yet I don't know why, other than it's something I've seen in his eyes.
Most of the other things I notice in class are a bit more...well, girl related. :P What can I say, I notice that which interests me, and cute girls tend to interest me. There's one girl in front of me who I tend to observe, but those are minor little things that don't really mean anything other than that I notice because she's cute. But the other girl, the one who sits on the other side of the room from me and in the same row, she fascinates me. In looks, she has a hint of Charisma Carpenter, although not too terribly much. That's the cute part, but the fascination comes from the way I've seen her look at things. She seems, to me anyway, to really be taking note of things, like she's actually noticing everything she looks at. She doesn't gaze particularly long or intensely on anything or anyone, but it seems somehow sharp, like she's actually noticing it all. I have to be careful when I glance at her in case she happens to glance in my direction as well, for it sometimes seems as if she knows exactly what's going on. It makes me wonder if I ever look that when I'm noticing things, or if it's something completely different. Maybe she just looks like she's more observant or something.
