And then some
Jan. 8th, 2003 03:01 pmSo I've been carefully trying to ignore the signs and news present of the coming end of Buffy, and I must say, the bubble has been popped. I realize now that there is a very good chance that this is indeed the final season of Buffy, and no matter that I will be able to see the old ones on dvd, it just won't ever be the same. And even if the show continues without Buffy, what then? My one and only hope, which somehow I doubt Joss would ever be so kind as to do, would be to have Buffy die again and to have Faith take her place. I must admit, the replacement of Buffy with Faith would probably bring new life to the show. Every single group dynamic would have to shift in order to accomodate the new group leader. Loyalties might wax and wane, plus Spike would be majorly pissed to have gone through all the trouble of getting his soul back just to lose Buffy again. The one major problem that I can see, besides the fact that the damn show is named after Buffy, is that she really is what makes the show. Okay, the others are an indispensable part as well, but they are not the main character. Faith might be able to pick up the reigns for a season or two, provided that she even wants to, but would the show have the same heart? Either way, I'm deeply worried. Just as soon as I start really getting into this show, and they decide to cripple it, or kill it off entirely. I am cursed with irony. Damn you universe! Damn you to the same plague of irony that besieges me so frequently.
And with that, he ended his self-centered ranting.
