Or something to that affect. I saw this on [livejournal.com profile] jollycynic's lj and had to gank it. Although, I fear that most everything's going to be Buffy related...

Best introduction to a TV series? (meaning movies, pilot episodes and miniseries, not credits)
The one pilot that immediately springs to mind is Roswell. The first episode not only got the pace going, it introduced a lot of characters without anything feeling forced. I'd say it's the best introduction to a series I've yet to see, but I could be forgetting something, like John Doe or something.

Most frustrating cliffhanger for a TV series?
John Doe, although that's more due to the fact that they cancelled the damn show afterwards, so I never got to see where it went.

Best resolved sexual tension in a TV series?
I have to agree with everyone else about Spike and Buffy. Unlike other shows, that sometimes get stale when a couple gets together, or worse perhaps, when they immediately make everything go to hell, such as Buffy and Angel, with Spike and Buffy, things just went weird but didn't really go bad.

Most heartwrenching character death?
Buffy, to be sure. You can't not tear up when the music swells, she tells dear old energy ball sis she loves her, then leaps. *sniff*

Most upsetting (but not heartwrenching) character death?
Alex from Roswell. He brought a certain amount of light humor to the show that was sorely missed afterwards. Although, now that I think about it, it's probably a tie with Cordelia. She gave a lot to Angel.

Most surprising character death?
I dunno. It's like a tie for a half dozen characters from Buffy. Tara, Momma Buffy, Jonathan, Spike, etc. The mark of a good show I suppose, is one that's not afraid to kill off people you don't expect.

Best funeral scene/episode in a TV series?
My, but this is such a morbid meme. Anyhoo, I definitely have to go with The Body, although that didn't have much of a funeral in it, but it deals with death like no other show I've seen. The quiet for so much of it, the sort of unknowing and anger and hurt throughout, it's just very well done.

Most frustrating character replacement in a TV series?
Wow, this is a pretty hard one to think about. Most shows I watch tend to be pretty darn good at making replacements as good as the replacee. Although perhaps in Andromeda how they've somewhat replaced Rommie with Doyle. I must ponder this.
