Pastor Jeff said something along those lines during the sermon this morning, and I found it quite interesting. At Calvary Chapel we tend to go through about a chapter a week, and for the last few months we've been going through the book of Acts. I think we were in 17 today. Anyway, he got to the point where Paul arrived in Athens, which was inarguably the mecca, as such, of thought. Rather than be amazed by such a place, Paul was instead saddened by the many idols all about. Anyway, Pastor Jeff pointed out at about this time that God has created us all to worship. Specifically Him, but if we don't worship Him, man will worship something else. Our culture has become one of self worship and the worship of man and his accomplishments, so it's not always quite as obvious as that of a godling, but it's there. I don't know why exactly, but that stuck with me today. If we do not worship God, we worship something else, just by our very nature. Reminds me of something C.S. Lewis would say.

Me!
