Yay verily.
Jun. 7th, 2005 11:17 amI finally remembered to call Borders last night. Apparently since my book is defective, they'll take it back and try to order a new one, if possible. I guess that not taking it back thing only applies to fective books. So I guess I'll go down there today and see about getting a new one, hopefully not of the same printing, as I don't want to get another one that's missing 50 pages again.
I also have to start looking for a job again. I kind of just gave up after the guy at Game Crazy took so long to pick, then finally filled the two positions without me being one of the two. I was really hoping for that one. Frankly, it was one of the only positions left open in town that I'm aware of, or capable of. I've been given the ultimatum to look for four hours a day, but honestly, I don't know where to look. I am, unfortunately, a bit picky, and some places don't even occur to me to begin with. I'll start by trying all the places I tried before, hoping against hope someone has stopped coming to work or something. I doubt it, but God willing, something will open up before I get too discouraged and want to throw myself out of a window. I guess there's always fast food places, but I don't really want to. Mostly, I just don't want to be the only white guy in a given place, especially when I don't speak spanish. Nothing against the mexicans working in most the fast food places in town, but it's hard enough being the new guy in a place, much less being the only white boy. Maybe I'll just have to suck it up. I do so hate having to suck it up.
