The Wedding Date
Aug. 26th, 2005 10:11 pmYou know, there are some decent romance movies/chick flicks out there, but The Wedding Date is not one of them. I had to watch it tonight, and I had to say, it was just lousy. It just felt like someone tried phoning in a love story. I didn't get any background for the characters, and frankly, I could really care less about any of them. You know from the start the girl's ending up with the guy, but again, it's more phoned in than anything else. There was no passion there, no real plot to make the characters fall in love, no real anything. It was all about getting from point A to point B, but it felt like someone forgot how to do that, so they just sort of magically make it so. There was no time for the characters to bond, and one night of drunken sex does not make for love. It doesn't even make for a memorable moment. I was completely turned off by the sex scene.
Seeing such a bad movie makes me want to go and see a few good ones. Maybe I'll rent The Notebook again or something. Now that's a believable and watchable movie.
