I did my oral presentation this morning for my fairy tales class. I'm so glad it's over, but all things considered, I don't think I did too terribly badly. I was the first to do a presentation, so at least there was no one else this semester to compare it to. The first part, where I was basically giving all the background info on my fairy tale, themes and concepts and whatnot, was not too terribly great for me. I felt like I wash rushing it because I was nervous. And I was. But then I got to the part where I sat down and read the tale to the class, and it wasn't too bad. We're supposed to sort of act it out, but it's hard to really do that and read at the same time, especially if there's a lot to read. I think it was like 6 pages. I thought I did pretty well on that part though. I didn't screw up more than a few times in the reading, and I felt like I put a lot of passion into the reading. The telling of the tale is basically as if we were reading to children, as fairy tales should be done, and if there were any there, I think I might have held some of their attentions. Best of all though, when I was reading, I was too busy to really be nervous. I'm glad it's over with though. One less thing to worry about later on.
