Nightmare 3D
Oct. 31st, 2007 09:03 amI was so happy to see that The 3D version of Nightmare Before Christmas had come to town a few weeks back, and I rushed to see it as soon as I was able. Big mistake. Save for Ultraviolet, there's never been a movie I've so regretted wasting my money on. I love Nightmare, but that 3D version is a travesty. First of all, I had to pay two bucks extra just to get some crappy 3D glasses to watch the movie, and as I received said glasses, was told that they haven't been working right and that I would need to wear them upside-down, which, I discovered, is not terribly comfortable. The glasses weren't a deal breaker or anything, but the movie sure was. The whole thing was a complete mess. I don't know if the people making the movie just didn't care, or what, but less than half the movie was at all watchable, and I mean that almost literally. There were moments here and there where the movie actually worked and I got to see how cool it could have been, but those moments were fleeting. The rest of it, I was constantly unable to focus on the movie. Half the time everything was all blurry and unfocusy, yet those were the parts that drew the eye rather than the one thing in frame that wasn't blurry. And the color on certain parts was weird and distracting.
Honestly, it was a complete mess, and that sucks so much, because I really love that movie. Bah!
