I had some most unusual dreams last night that just kept going. I don't know why, but lately I keep having dreams involving large spaceships, invaders from elsewhere, and occasionally colonies that have escaped from earth. Though, as I describe it, it suddenly starts sounding like Battlestar Galactica, so maybe that's why.
Anyway, the first dream I had last night involved a most magnificently large worldship that had come to earth. Except, it was...wrong. The leader of the people who came on the ship was on of a family who had created the ship, and had created it to be some sort of utopia. In my dream, the assumption was that one of them had screwed up on some calculation somewhere, because something had gone awry with the core mind of the thing. The ship pulsed with such a strong music that could be heard as soon as one got near to the ship, and it was even more powerfully felt and heard when aboard. But the music was off. You could feel it. It's like when you're trying to remember a piece of music, but you keep getting stuck on one particular line of it, repeating it over and over, and knowing that one or more notes are wrong, but not which ones. That's how the whole ship felt. This musical line kept repeating, but it was wrong. And the leader of the ship, being the main architect, kept getting sucked into this endlessly repeating line of music, without realizing it. He knew that there was something wrong with the ship, but did not seem to understand that he kept humming along, essentially getting caught up in the wrongness of everything instead of stepping back and seeing whatever was really wrong.
Inside, the worldship was a kind of madness personified. I had realized that the entire world inside was like a giant battery and computer. That the architecture of everything, houses, streets, people, etc. were part of the program. Kind of like earth was in Hitchhiker's Guide, but way more blatant. And worse, since the program was wrong, everything was madness. Streets and towns curled and twisted in horrifying design. People everywhere made no sense. Everyone had weapons for some reason. I recall one man feeding inanimate objects to other, less-inanimate, objects. Like he fed a seat to a dog-acting baby stroller. For some reason, part of the battery's process involved a wave of energy that would sweep through the world, except, being off, it came as a wall of bullets. In order not to get shot, people had to spray their own bullets at the oncoming hail, and their bullets would often cancel out the others.
Eventually, the leader took me to go talk to the core mind of the worldship. It was supposed to be this wise thing, but again, it was wrong. All it would say was that things were too deep. I think it said one other thing, but I don't remember what it was. Near the end of the dream, I somehow managed to glimpse a room off the side of the core, where lived one or more of the rest of the family that were the creators of ship. I think I also managed to see a brief glimpse into the future where I and several others barge into that room to try and fix things. But the dream ended about there.
