Dating Advice
Sep. 25th, 2010 04:16 amI'm starting to seriously think that the dating community, specifically the christian dating community, needs to return to the grade school way of asking each other out. Meaning, "Do you like me? Yes/No". But in this case, I think we should have, "Do you like me? Yes/As a friend/Willing to find out/In a bad place, ask again in (X time)". Do you know how many damn annoying relational issues something like that would fix? It sure as hell would have helped me with a number of girls I've had interest in over the years. Plus, easier to just hand over an inconspicuous note than to try to separate one of 'em from the herd in order to ask, and easier than the girl hemming and hawing in order to say nothing at all... Okay, so just a little bitter... Anyway, I think I really need to start making these things and passing them out to all my friends.
They won't work for every situation, but I think they can for most. I could also make follow-up cards... Things like, "why the hell not?!", "What's wrong with me?", "Woohoo!", "(X-event) at (X-time-and-place)?", "I'm going to slink away in embarrassment now", "I'm going to go cry now", "Leave me alone you creep", "Who the hell are you?!", "Screw friends, I'm never talking to you again!", etc.
Someday I'm going to end up making horrifying greetings cards, I just know it...
