Why Apple, Why?

I'm not a fan of Apple and its products, and am annoyed that I even have to have an ipod. So I'm much more unhappy since my ipod went into "recovery mode". I plugged it into the compy to charge, and it wigged out. I popped open itunes (which I hate), and was told the only way to fix it was to "fix" it. By that, I mean it wiped the blasted thing and basically reformatted. I looked, and that's the only option one can do, ever. I don't have all the things on my computer that I had on my ipod! Not to mention how much time I had to spend putting things onto it the first time. Gah! Apple is like an abusive relationship, I swear.
