RIP my beautiful laptop. The RAM I ordered came, but while my computer recognized it, it still hung trying to boot, which makes it a motherboard problem. So for all intents and purposes, my laptop is gone. I really miss having my own computer. I've been using my dad's laptop, which beats having nothing, but it really isn't the same as having one's own. I've been looking at new ones, though being broke makes for an exercise in futility. The dream laptop would, of course, be an Alienware but, more realistically, I've been looking at a Toshiba Satellite S855 as a long-term investment. Again, an exercise in futility until I have money, but still... A good computer is one that can last many good years and still be somewhat viable, so it can be quite good to get something powerful up front and basically let it coast for years.
Looking at laptops though, I'm rather surprised at how few of them have bluray capability. You'd think they'd all have them standard anymore.
I'm starting to get cabin fever of late. Mom says that's actually somewhat good, since it means I'm less depressed and, antisocial, I guess you'd say. It's still annoying, of course. Part of why I'm feeling so pent up is the increasing feeling that I'm supposed to be returning to Redding and that I'm just killing time here until then. Also, I have almost nothing to do here. Everything is a minimum of 20 minutes drive away, and most more like 45 minutes to an hour. Add to that how I don't have any friends to hang out with and there's really no surprise regarding the cabin fever.
