Ugh. I had my french test this morning. I don't think I did too well, on part of it anyway. I think I did decently on the writing part, but on the listening, I think I really crapped out. They're worth a lot of points, and honestly, they just talk too fast and slur their words. And since the listening part is done from a cd, we can't exactly ask the teacher to speak slower or anything. I'll probably pass, but I don't think I'm going to do as well as I did on the last two tests in there. Those tests are difficult. I can only thank God that I already know a bit of french to begin with. Those poor people who are learning this all for the first time are getting seriously screwed. My friend Kiyomi, who has no previous french, tends to do like 20% less than I do on any given test, and if I don't think it's easy, it must be nightmarish for others. We move something like 3 times faster than in high school, give or take. We're learning in one semester what might have taken a year or two in high school. It's insane.
