Woohoo!

It's taken nearly two full days, but my laptop is now almost fully restored to its bonniness. After a reformat and a day+ of reinstalling all the essential programs, I'm almost all done. Portal, which I got for my birthday last week, still will not work on it, but at least I can now send in a help request to Valve, so hopefully that'll get fixed soon. The real woo-hoo-ness comes from the fact that I actually managed to back up things this time, and, in fact, backed up more than I was aware of. To that end, I just discovered a folder stored on my flash drive in which I had backed up a ton of various background pics and whatnot, which so rocks, as I use those for my screensaver. But more than that, I discovered all of my old user icons! Woo! I had thought them lost to the sea of bits and bytes, but nope, they're all there, including a number of ones I had completely forgotten I even had. Yay!
