So I finally went to see a doctor about my knees a week ago. There is a history of bad knees in my family, and I believed that I was following suit as my knees were beginning to sound like tearing velcro every time I took the stairs, and there was the occasional pain. Anyway, I finally have insurance due to college, so I went and got it checked out. Turns out that the noise and pain is somewhat common to teenagers and growing people (I'm 19, but I'm slow in growing and such), and it's caused by the muscles in the inner thigh growing weak and shifting the knee cap, causing grinding. So anyway, the doc tells me to go to physical therapy so I can prevent this from getting any worse. I can handle losing an hour or so twice a week to go there and work on it, but the damn little exercises I was assigned annoy the hell out of me. I have plenty to annoy me as it is without having to spend 30 minutes a day standing in awkward and uncomfortable postitions. I know it's supposed to help me, but it still sucks serious monkey ass.
