It's funny how different things will permanently imprint themselves upon your memories, particularly since so few things do. Smells are definitely one, but right now I'm thinking of certain songs or albums that can always bring memories to mind. A lot of times when I listen to the Remy Zero album Golden Hum, I'm reminded of my aunt's house, where I first played it. Oddly, one of the strongest memory tuggers is any song by Switchfoot from their album Meant To Live. I was reading (or possibly rereading) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when I got the album and I have the strongest visceral remembrance of the book whenever I hear any of the songs. I must say, it's a very odd connection to have.

Isn't aversion therapy the worst? I did the same thing with at least one movie when I had food poisoning. I can't even think about watching it now.

For me, there are definitely smells that trigger things for me, but fewer have specific memories attached, more of a nostalgic feel.
