It's funny how different things will permanently imprint themselves upon your memories, particularly since so few things do. Smells are definitely one, but right now I'm thinking of certain songs or albums that can always bring memories to mind. A lot of times when I listen to the Remy Zero album Golden Hum, I'm reminded of my aunt's house, where I first played it. Oddly, one of the strongest memory tuggers is any song by Switchfoot from their album Meant To Live. I was reading (or possibly rereading) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when I got the album and I have the strongest visceral remembrance of the book whenever I hear any of the songs. I must say, it's a very odd connection to have.

That is so true! For the longest time I couldn't forget why the Watermelon Trident gum made me think of Resident Evil 4. It hit me after awhile that it was the same gum that I was currently obsessed with at the time. But that's not why I remember it! There was a part in the game that terrified me (even though I don't find that game terrifying anymore-- just suspenseful). At the time I just had to turn off at the point and take a break (I didn't even save!) and chewed a hell lot of gum. So... Uh... Yeah. That might be weird. I apologize. lol
